Japanese game studio Rya Ga Gotoku for the past few months has illustrated its continued support for the Like a Dragon series. Already, it did so with the Nintendo Switch release for Yakuza Kiwami this past fall. Additionally, an earlier release date for Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is also scheduled for next month in February 2025.
However, the firm is also pressing on new projects as well. While this year will feature an emphasis on Yakuza/Like a Dragon for the series’ 20th anniversary, new IPs are on the way. One of the most notable is the new reveal for Project Century. At The Game Awards, RGG Studio showcased a new title in the works exploring Japan set in the early 1900s. The technical work & graphic presentation is unlike even the most modern Yakuza titles.
Recently, pre-registration went up for the previously leaked Yakuza Wars game. Officially titles ‘SEGA’s City of Wars: Powered by Yakuza, sign-ups for the game went live in regions Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau for both Google Play Store & Apple App Store. You can watch the trailer in the video below:
