At the start of April, specifically on April 1st, many video game developer, publishers, and maunfacturers like to take on the annual April Fool’s day celebration to break the formality between the consumer and the firm. While most of the announcements appears to be just mockings of their brand, sometimes it actually becomes more than just a gag.
From Japanese developer PlatinumGames, the game studio last year featured Sol Cestra. The game happened to be a reinvigorating re-entry to the classic arcade-like era of titles. However, this past April Fool’s Day the development team announced that Sol Cestra is actually arriving as a playable game later this year.
Now in a similar manner from Mojang Studios, the Minecraft developer announced Minecraft Plus. While assuming to be another gag that does not really exist, Mojang Studios shares it is available now. You can watch the trailer in the video below:
Assuming the form of Windows 98 software, the client is a bevy of Minecraft screen savers that you can run on your computer. For those that don’t want the hassle of installing, you can run it on browser and watch the different animations. Ranging from pasturing dirt to grass, glow squids moving the screen, and bounding vines in a Solitaire winning fashion.
In a familiar approach, Microsoft offers video game makeovers to Microsoft Edge as well before. In that, the Xbox company shares that users can dress their browser in first-party apparel like Sea of Thieves, Halo, Gears of War, and Ori and the Will of the Wisps.
