Mojang Studios has released the PlayStation 5 version of Minecraft in preview form. For the longest time, the PS4 version of Minecraft was the only version available to play on PS5 and if you own the game you’ll be able to access and test the early PlayStation 5 version.
To access the native PS5 version of Minecraft you’ll have to open the PS4 version of the game on your PlayStation 5 console and go to “Settings” and then “Preview” within the game. The preview includes the new Tricky Trials Update. You can venture into the trial chambers, meet a breeze, craft a mace, and much more.
The reason for the early access version of Minecraft on PlayStation 5 is to hunt for bugs and give feedback to Mojang so they can make sure it’s the best they can make it. Players can still play multiplayer in the preview version, but it will only be allowed with other PS4 and PS5 players.
It was long reported that Mojang would be releasing a native PS5 version of Minecraft and now it’s official. Now, the action-adventure game will be able to use the power the PlayStation 5 has to offer.
