Monster Hunter Movie Hits Theaters December 4 In Europe & China, December 25 In North America

Just a little over a month ago, Sony Pictures unveiled the first, full-length trailer for Paul W.S. Anderson’s Monster Hunter film. While discussions surrounding the film and production has been quiet leading up to the debut of the trailer, the ideal release for the film has fluctuated. Originally, the film was told to release in September, but was dismissed to next year.

However, that was until the aforementioned trailer released that Sony Pictures pressed the film to arrive next month. Specifically for December 30, the film has now again been rescheduled. In conjunction with the arrival on the Chinese trailer for Monster Hunter, the motion picture is now arriving on Christmas Day, December 25 in North America.

As for other regions such as China and Europe alike, the trailer portrays a December 4th box office release for the film. You can watch the new trailer in the video below:

In reception to the newest trailer for the movie, many users online are more satisfied with how the plot is portrayed in contrast to the game. While many of Anderson’s films based on Capcom’s IP perform well in the box office, the projects do tend to linger away from the source material to put it lightly. But for Monster Hunter, this looks to be the most accurate of his work.

Elsewhere for video game productions, HBO just recently gave The Last of Us the green light to begin filming. The project is to be a television series based off the titular Naughty Dog video game series. You can read the full report by heading here.
