Since Activision revealed the idea of the first three titlex in the Crash Bandicoot series back in 2017, the rush of nostalgia got to many fans of the original trilogy as they returned a second time around with the remastered N’ Sane Trilogy. To further fans excitement, some speculated that a rework of 1999’s Crash Team Racing would continue to push hype once again if it ever happens sometime in the future.
Eventually it did as Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled was revealed this past year’s Game Awards reintroducing the classic racing title for this generations line of consoles. And just like the remastered trilogy, Nitro Fueled also gets a complete makeover with better visuals, and more responsive controls.
Recently Variety’s gaming division got their hands on the upcoming couch racer and uploaded 15 minutes worth of gameplay to showoff how the game will be when releasing later this year.
Unlike the N’ Sane Trilogy, Nitro Fueled will be coming to all major platforms which includes PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and even Nintendo Switch. Previously after the game’s reveal after the awards show, a rumored surfacing around the game possibly missing a release on Nintendo’s latest platform. but now that seems to be untrue.
In relevance to reworked classics, it’s still unsure if the Spyro Reignited Trilogy will be coming to the Nintendo Switch at anytime soon. As the N’ Sane Trilogy originally was an timed exclusive to PlayStation 4, the limited timeframe pushed for the game’s launch on the remaining platforms. But this time around for Spyro, this doesn’t seem to be the case as already being available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled has an set release date for June 21, 2019.
