This year in the gaming landscape, musician and recognized rapper Travis Scott has become an icon in the industry from his involvement alone. Back in April, the musical performer held a virtual concert in Fortnite titled ‘Astronomical’, a compilation of namely songs from Scott’s list of already-released tracks. The online event was reported to have accumulated 12 million concurrent users.

Now in a new announcement over on the PlayStation Blog, Sony Interactive Entertainment shares a new creative partnership with Travis Scott has been established as the firm welcomes him to the PlayStation family.

I’m really looking forward to being able to showcase everything that Cactus Jack has worked on with Sony and the PlayStation team. Most importantlyI’m excited to see how the PlayStation fans and family respond, and I look forward to running some games with everybody very soon!

As part of the announcement for Scott’s addition, a new promotional video was posted of Scott alongside namely Sony employees and the approaching PlayStation 5. Those featured in the video includes Sony Interactive Entertainment Platform Planning and Management Senior Vice President Hideaki Nishino and Sony Interactive Entertainment Hardware Design Division Mechanical Design Department Vice President Yasuhiro Ootori.

“We heard Travis is a huge PlayStation fan, so we started a conversation with him that led to this unique partnership,” Eric Lempel, Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Marketing Senior Vice President says about the new partnership. Through our mutual passion for gaming and creativity, we plan on collaborating with Travis and his Cactus Jack brand to produce innovative projects that we hope will delight our collective fans.
