Over the weekend many players on Pokémon Go have discovered an odd looking Pokémon with a ditto body and a hex nut on top of it. Though fans were able to catch the mysterious Pokémon, it only resulted in a transformation into ditto, hiding the name of this new Pokémon.

Revealed by Nintendo that this unknown Pokémon is named Meltan. Categorized as a Hex Nut Pokémon, Meltan is a steel-type that uses his liquid-based metal body to generate electricity to use as a source of energy for his attacks.

The discovery of this new Pokémon was also revealed in an animated short posted on the official Pokémon YouTube as Professor Oak teaches Professor Willow about Meltan. Along with the news surrounding the enigma of this new Pokémon, it was revealed that we will see Meltan in the upcoming Pokémon titles for the Nintendo Switch.

Research is being conducted on these appearances of Meltan, but we have learned that Pokémon GO is somehow key to meeting this curious new Pokémon in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!

Pokémon Let’s Go Eevee and Let’s Go Pikachu will be available for the Nintendo Switch on November 16, 2018.
