For fans who have been following any lead on more information from Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part II, you unfortunately might have scored more than you were anticipating. Over the weekend, fans that have trailed Naughty Dog since the announcement of the studio’s 2013 post-apocalyptic, action-adventure title were exposed to the conclusion of the upcoming sequel for the series.
Speculation as for where this leak was sourced from pins to be a done by an angered employee at Naughty Dog, reports share. As for why is entailed directly through extended crunch to develop the game atop of the newly-adopted lifestyle of work-from-home etiquette due to the ongoing pandemic.
In result, many users have been vocally opposed to picking up the game already knowing how the game ended; virtually taking their anger out on the studio that’s been working since transitioning to the new hardware. However, Naughty Dog posted a letterhead recently encouraging fans that despite the unfortunate discovery – should still pick up the game as the overall experience is where the real satisfaction can be found.
“The Last of Us Part II will be in your hands soon. No matter what you see and hear, the final experience will be worth it,” the post reads reassuring players to still pick up the approaching title.
For fans that have patiently been waiting, it is understandable to be angry when the plot’s ending is carelessly casted into the depths of the ever growing internet. But, it should also be taken into consideration not to take your anger out on Naughty Dog directly since it was acted upon one individual rather than the studio as a whole. Not only will this hurt the team directly, but developers who actually take pride in their work are also upset on the matter with this leak from their coworker.
Especially with the amount of waiting that many fans have anticipatedly been patient for over majority of this console generation atop of a couple pushed release dates, all that should not be made for nothing over the upsetting action. If you truly do support Naughty Dog, its suggested you continue to do so by picking up The Last of Us Part II later this summer.
The statement comes just minutes following the newly established release date for the game now arriving this coming June. Even more, Sucker Punch Productions’ Ghost of Tsushima will now be releasing in July, the same announcement shares. You can read the full report by heading here.
