NBA 2K21 Is Reported To Be 150 GB On PlayStation 5

As we step closer into the next-generation, more things are expected to change – if you like it or not. When it comes to NBA 2K21, the title is one of the first properties to introduce $70 titles for the newer hardware. But of course, that is not all that is expected for the newest installment on Xbox Series X|S/PlayStation 5, the file size is also expected to climb higher as well.

Already, we witnessed this with Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War as the game on next-gen systems asks for 40 GB more than those paying on the current devices. But for Visual Concepts’ NBA 2k21, that void is stretching ever further according to one user who managed to get their hands on a physical copy of the game.

Reddit poster u/robo3687 shares that when inspecting the packaging for NBA 2K21, you will find the game with a file size of at least 150 GB. You can view the photo in the image below:

In contrast to NBA 2K21 on PlayStation 4 right now, the game while still a hefty amount is roughly 87 GB. That is considered before patches and other updates that shipped post-launch. But for that to virtually double is truly mind boggling; especially seeing the PC version only asking for 110 GB at launch. For Xbox Series X|S, expect a similar amount as well.

For those that yet to indulge themselves in the latest NBA 2K entry, we suggest you read out full review for the game. Rectify Gaming’s David Rodriguez tells his experience with the newest installment “cuts back on the VC grind, and provides a deep, satisfying game of basketball for new and old fans alike.” You can read the review in its entirety by heading here.
