In the current era of gaming, a growing digital platform has come with some constraints. In one aspect, it is the answer to a collective of titles for easy access. On the other hand, it could be problematic for game’s that are tied to online requirements which inevitably go offline. To list another ‘pro’ to this conversation, it could be to list titles that were available before internet storefronts.

Recently, Bungie announced that the classic Marathon release from 1994 is to hit Steam in the near future. The game is listed for a release with “coming soon” displayed. Additionally, the latter effect of online stores have made certain players disappointed over time. This was proven when Alpha Protocol was delisted on Steam back in 2019. That was until this past week.

A new development between Obsidian Entertainment & Sega reveals that the 2010 espionage RPG is now back on PC through CD Projekt Red’s GoG.com. You can watch the launch trailer in the video below:

“Loyalty carries a price and no one knows this more than agent Michael Thorton. A talented young agent cast out by his government, Thorton is the only one with the information needed to stop an impending international catastrophe. To do so means he must cut himself off from the very people he is sworn to protect. As players determine how to accomplish different objectives, the decisions made and actions taken in each mission will ultimately transform the type of secret agent Michael Thorton will become.”

The GoG Page description continues: “Every choice the player makes as Michael Thorton will carry consequences for his future and the fate of the world. With Alpha Protocol back, we’re also very happy to say that the GOG version of the game contains additional or brought back features that are here to let you enjoy it even more.” This includes support for achievements, controller, localization, and cloud saves.

What has you excited for Alpha Protocol’s return to PC?

Alpha Protocol is available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
