Netflix Spares 2021 Release For The Witcher: Nightmare Of The Wolf Anime Film

While CD Projekt Red is being targeted for its delivery of Cyberpunk 2077 for the time being, another franchise the Polish developer worked on is currently curating its own standing over on Netflix. That being The Witcher, the series of novels authored by Andrzej Sapkowski is already well-acquainted with the masses through the titular video game series and 2019’s television series that bares the same title.

However, Netflix plans for more to arrive for the series as you might expect. For one, the same live-action series is expecting a second season sometime soon with production being halted nearly a year ago as a result to the still ongoing novel coronavirus epidemic. But, that is only one production that is underway for the series.

Last January, Netflix disclosed a anime film set in the universe will be arriving in the coming future. But now in a new teaser video shared by the Netflix Twitter account, the firm discloses the project is set to arrive sometime in 2021.

“The world of ‘The Witcher’ expands in this 2D anime film that explores a powerful new threat facing the Continent,” the synopsis reads for the film on Netflix’s website. The firm does elaborate elsewhere which reveals the anime movie is starring an entirely different Witcher. “Long before mentoring Geralt, Vesemir begins his own journey as a witcher after the mysterious Deglan claims him through the Law of Surprise.”

As for the remaining project regarding The Witcher, Netflix additionally pressed that a spin-off series is also underway. The production is told to be set well before the show starring Henry Cavill and will be performed as a live-action experience. You can read the full report by heading here.
