For the continued support of 2019’s Mortal Kombat 11, the game found itself with an extended amount of content than many players would anticipate initially. While Spawn was the concluding fighter for the Kombat Pass, NetherRealm Studios was not finished just there. Instead, the first ever expansion for the series arrive later on.
Dubbed Mortal Kombat: Aftermath, the new experience follows the conclusion of the story for Mortal Kombat 11 as the clash between the Earthrealm and Netherrealm continues. However, the team’s plan still did not halt. Following did NetherRealm Studios welcome a second Kombat Pass which featured Milenna, Rain, and John Rambo to the game.
Now this past week on Friday, NetherRealm Studios announces it well has concluded on development for Mortal Kombat 11 and to now focus on its new work.
NetherRealm is now focusing on its next project and after more than two years of supporting Mortal Kombat 11, DLC for the game, including characters, has come to an end.

Previously, there was speculation that NetherRealm Studios could potentially be returning to the Injustice series as director Ed Boon is to be present at the DC Fandome last summer. However, plans for such never did bear any fruit. Later, it was reported that the fighting game series is instead receiving an animated film from Warner Bros. Animation.
As for other news regarding the Mortal Kombat series, HBO Max executives tell that the theatrical release on the streaming service happened to be one of the most significant releases on the platform in its first year. You can read the full report by heading here.
