Dating back to 2016 since Crystal Dynamic announced the company’s partnership with Marvel on the coming Avengers game, not a lot on the title was shown since the initial reveal. Until this year’s E3 at the Square Enix annual press conference, Crystal Dynamics alongside Deus Ex developer Eidos Montreal fully revealed the upcoming title with a short demo for the game.
But despite there being a chunk of footage to inspect for those anticipated for the new title, many felt that what was shown at the event was only filler as other things like the voice actor’s journey taking on the roles and in-game rendered cutscenes consumed most of the screen time. Especially as the title is set on a Spring 2020 release date, that does not leave a lot of time for impressions to be made following what was presented at E3.
However, Marvel has announced that more content on the game will be presented later this month at San Diego Comic-Con. A panel for the video game portion of Marvel’s presence at the event is set to be hosted on July 18th with Kinda Funny’s Greg Miller to proctor the presentation.
The description for the panel is said to feature Marvel’s Avengers of course, along with Iron Man VR and Nintendo Switch exclusive Marvel’s Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order. As well as hinting at “unannounced surprises and panel exclusives,” which was not mentioned in the panel’s synopsis.
With all mentioned Marvel titles already receiving proper release dates, this could leave room for a new potential game to be announced at the comic convention. Seeing ties between Marvel and Sony Interactive Entertainment following Marvel’s Spider-Man, we could possibly see the next title coming to the PlayStation platform, but that’s just my prediction.
Marvel’s Avengers will be out on May 15, 2020 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Google Stadia, and Steam.
