It was less than two weeks ago that Apex Legends players momentarily returned to the inaugural King’s Canyon map for the popular battle royale. Now that the fun has settled back onto World’s Edge once again, developer Respawn Entertainment has a new event scheduled to keep players busy for the next two weeks.

Announcing the System Override Collection event will indulge players with, of course, a timed mode, cosmetics, and other exclusive goodies available to pick up. Interesting though, a new item has been added which goes off track of most events that have made its way through Apex Legends. Introducing the EVO Shield, the items can be found alike any other shield you can equip when playing. However, this one is different as you will be able to increase its durability when dealing damage to opposing legends.

To make the deal even more interesting, the shield will grow in strength from base white to a glowing red: the tier is shared to be stronger than gold shields which will surely rearrange the current notion of how those have accustomed to play since Assimilation has arrived.

As for the new mode, Déjà Loot as it sounds will have loot permanently organized in its respected spot for the duration of the event. Even more, the flight path alongside ring pattern will be the same for each day of the event. Shaking things up more, Déjà Loot will run for the first week of the event (3/3 – 3/10) and the remainder will take place on Kings Canyon once again if you haven’t got tired of the map just yet.

Additionally, there will be exclusive items and cosmetic that players can unlock when playing. What is new about this though is that System Override will be receiving its own unique unlock tracker similar to how each season organizes its loot tiers. The most exciting reveal regarding in-game loot is Octane’s own heirloom, a decorative butterfly knife. Respawn also eased on the process of acquiring these rare flaunting pieces through Heirloom shards which will unlock the same as sets after 500 Apex packs.
