When it comes to controllers for Microsoft – there is not much to bat an eye with the latest iteration available for the Xbox Series X|S. And while the accessory resides close to its predecessor, aside from small differences, the gamepad shines its brightest with the versions available. Alongside the Carbon Black and Robot White that comes available with each unit, there is also the additional Shock Blue available to pick up.
But, of course, there are other additions to surface if you couldn’t guess. In a new Xbox Wire blog post, Microsoft announces a new color scheme controller: Pulse Red. The controller is in similar to design of the previously mentioned Shock Blue with majority of the gamepad painted its titular color – even the buttons – aside from the white backing.
With a vivid, fiery-red topcase and crisp, white backcase, the new Pulse Red controller brings the same energy and equally striking color as the Shock Blue. Matte black triggers, bumpers, and hybrid D-pad reduce slip against sweaty fingers and thumbs for greater control, while a textured dot pattern on the triggers and bumpers to keep your grip locked in.

Given the state of the controllers for Xbox Series X|S and its close similarities with previous gamepads, Microsoft is interested on what its users think. In a survey dished out to Xbox Series X owners recently, the firm asks if DualSense features would suit their liking well if it came to Xbox controllers. However, the question is only hypothetical as no announcements yet has been made to pursue an upgrade.
Also, Microsoft also released a statement elsewhere on the decision to utilize AA batteries still. In that, the firm tells it is dictated solely on giving players choice on how to power their accessories. You can read the full report by heading here.
