Although the initial release for GTA Online came off short with the limited amount of activities at the time, the multiplayer portion of Grand Theft Auto V later became the cash cow that Rockstar Games collected its award for being the most purchased release for the 2010s – as per The NPD Group. But, the same story could not be spun for Red Dead Redemption II following its launch in 2018. Despite learning from the 2013 release, Red Dead Online has yet to completely evolve similar to GTA Online yet.
However, that is not to say that Rockstar Games is giving up on the IP altogether. In fact, the developer is continuing to support the title with continuous free updates, alike it already does with GTA Online. Most recently, Rockstar Games made the interesting choice to sell the single-player & multiplayer segments for Red Dead Redemption II separately last December.
Now in a new announcement that went live Wednesday, Red Dead Online is now expecting its version of ‘Heists’ coming next week. In that, Rockstar Games revealed the ‘Blood Money’ update for Red Dead Online.
Martelli has entrusted some of The West’s most reprehensible soldiers of fortune with leads on where you might find Capitale. Visiting these contacts will reveal an entirely new type of work known as Crimes. Crimes will range from cloak-and-dagger coach holdups to multi-stage robberies — including kidnapping, brutal debt collections, and more.
Embark on Crimes either as a lone gun or with a full Posse of cutthroats alongside you. During each outing, keep a keen wit and search high and low for signs of Capitale to return to Guido Martelli — including from hidden chests or on the remains of those who’ve crossed your path. As you traverse the plains in Free Roam, you may hear of unlocked Homesteads and vulnerable Camps, ripe for the picking and begging to be relieved of a Capitale stash.
Accumulating enough Capitale for Guido Martelli will reveal Opportunities. These are dispatched by Martelli in a scheme to stifle a rising Lemoyne senator who is disrupting Bronte operations throughout the region. Each Opportunity can reveal various approaches to the task at hand — listen into nearby conversations or look out for important targets to uncover new paths to completion and weaken this politician’s position by bringing each of the three Jewels of the West to Martelli.
To sum up the new opportunities that are arriving to Red Dead Online, players can anticipate new jobs that go in defiance of the law for more rewarding outcomes in contrast to other offers in the Five Counties. As stated from the reveal, there will be three instances and each will launch at respected times accordingly.
While the next Grand Theft Auto is still expected to ship years away from now, the first batch of likely news for the unannounced game appears to have surfaced this past week. In that, Bloomberg Tech’s Jason Schreier corroborates with claims regarding the next title to return to Vice City with the series re-upping for multiple protagonists – even one being a female lead this time around.
