Now living in the post-release era for PlayStation 5, finally, it is still jarring to see what new and exciting titles are coming to the system. With frames sequels underway such as Horizon: Forbidden West and God of War: Ragnarok both scheduled to release in the coming year, there are other third-party releases worth keeping an eye out for as more information is expected to release later on.

Upon the many, Square Enix’s and Luminous Productions’ Project Athia is an anticipated release many are gripped to see more of. While still under its project titling for the time being, it is suspected there is plenty to learn of this coming property which defines the game between console generations. Collected from the game’s announcement, it is told the game will be a console exclusive to PlayStation 5.

That only refers to the retails units available which means the game is still planned to release for PC. But Xbox users are to be left out of the party for a brief period. The game’s exclusivity to Sony’s console was not mentioned initially, but in a new PlayStation 5 trailer the firm discloses the game is unique to the system for roughly two years. You can watch the trailer in the video below:

“In development for PS5. Also available on PC,” the subtext reads from the trailer. “Not available on other consoles until at least 24 months after release date.”

While upsetting fans are withheld of playing a game, the practice is in normalcy on all competing platforms. But for the time being, PlayStation 5 will hold the definitive platform for Project Athia until more is unveiled regarding the extended release to other systems later down the line, of course.

Elsewhere previously in regards to Project Athia, Square Enix President Yosuke Matsuda informed that the coming game is framed to be an open-world experience of sorts. You can read the full report by heading here.
