Developer Beenox disclosed earlier this Summer that the Grand Prix business model for Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled will function as a pseudo-seasonal event for the reworked kart racer. Introducing in-game challenges which reward players with virtual currency which then can be used towards customizable options. Atop other noticeable additions like nostalgic characters and new tracks, the Grand Prix promises to continue introducing more content for players to return to.
Just today, Beenox announced that the next stop for the Grand Prix will be stopping at Neon Circus: the new track titled ‘Koala Carnival’ also introduces self-explanatory Koala Kong to the game’s cast of racers. Three new karts will also debut with the event: Nitro Bumper kart, Pressurizer, and Daredevil.
The addition of the new mode, Ring Rally, which gives players a set time frame to achieve the most amount of points per lap. Players will have to collect as many rings as they can to continue adding time to their clock; each ring obtained will also give the collecter a slight speed boost as well. Earning against your opponents is the set objective, but Beenox suggest attempting to beat your own score if possible.
Of course, there are a new plethora of other in-game items for users to spend their in-game currency on with the addition of 18 new items. Notably, your biggest rewards from racing would be to unlock Pasadena O’Possum, Ebenezer von Clutch, and the starring Koala Kong. Other gambles to potentially be awarded is the season’s specialized decal to decorate your kart and themed kart sets.
