A new year also means that we should be expecting a Nintendo Direct sometime in the coming weeks. Reflecting on previous years, Nintendo hosted the online presentation sometime during the first month with new information regarding their current console and the next batch of upcoming titles for the platform. Just last week, a report went out which revealed that about 12 new SKUs have been submitted for the Nintendo Switch according to the GameStop database.

Foreshadowing a Direct to receive an imminent announcement, it would only take time to tell fans when exactly that will arrive. And time did just that as less than a week later, Nintendo went to Twitter to confirm that there will be a new Direct this Thursday in fact. However, instead of a traditional Direct livestreamed show, it will be a Pokémon-focused presentation

Suggested from the latest announcement made by Nintendo, it leaves the question as to what will be revealed exactly as only Pokémon-centered content will be shown during the approaching online event. Backtracking to the previous Pokémon press conference back in May, Nintendo has yet to expand upon the announced Pokémon Bank, Pokémon Sleep, and sequel for Detective Pikachu, so these are likely candidates to be presented later this week.

Although these ideas do show to be likely, there is still more room for possibility regarding the unannounced titles discovered the week prior. Perhaps some of those games are planned to be another Pokémon title(s) of some sort? That will only be passed as conjecture until Nintendo reveals what is planned this Thursday.

Many fans have showed to be very vocal about a remake for Generation 4 Sinnoh region of the original Diamond/Pearl titles : especially as fans have reached the lengths to expect the announcement to never arrive at this point, now would be a nice time to clear the clouds in that forecast. Or this could possibly even be the two prematurely confirmed Wii U titles that insider Emily Rogers talked about earlier.

What do you think will unravel from this coming Pokémon Direct?
