While the final wave of content is underway with the Wedding Season event taking place in Animal Crossing: New Horizons currently, Nintendo has returned to announce the next slew of updates for the coming months this summer for both July & August. In that, Nintendo reveals that the high-anticipated swimming feature will officially return with other intuitive gameplay elements that expand on your coming aquatic ventures at sea.
Starting on July 3rd, players will be able to access swimwear and travel off the shores of your island for new findings to be discovered on the seafloor. Of course, players will also be able to dive and collect a slew of sea creatures that can be handed to Blathers and stored in your museum with all your other collections already submitted. And with the feature returning, players can also expect to find Pascal making a comeback which you can sell your shells and other oceanic items.

Expanding on the addition of Pascal’s obsession on marine life forms, players can unlock specialized DIY recipes that can be used to create themed furniture, wallpaper/floors, and clothing for your villager. And it wouldn’t be the sea life without more Gulliver, right? Nintendo teases a “new encounter” of our feathered friend as this time he washed up on shore in a full-blown pirates costume for players to find.
However, the firm goes on to share that a second update will be arriving the following month sometime in “early August”. While it is still left unsure what exactly will be added in the tailing update, it will surely be a focused addition centered on summer activities.
Ahead of the game’s release back in early April, Game Director Aya Kyogoku when speaking with CNET explained that New Horizons is expected to receive years worth of content later on. You can read the full report by heading here.
