Earlier this week many fans were out of their seats excited following the possibility that we might see The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword getting a port to the Nintendo Switch. As being one of the most fan favorite titles from the Nintendo Wii, this rumor quickly took popularity and soon after Nintendo has made a comment that the chances of seeing the game’s Switch version.

The rumor’s foundation formed after Legend of Zelda franchise head Eiji Aonuma teased the idea of a port for the 2011 game during a concert for the series’ soundtrack in Japan. But now according to Eurogamer, the chances of seeing the beloved title on the Nintendo eShop for the Switch aren’t very likely. A spokesman for Nintendo told the gaming outlet:

At this time we have no plans to release The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword on Nintendo Switch,

Which leaves many fans anticipating to return to the title disappointed. As players were able to put pieces together such as how motion controls were implemented for the Wii, the same could be translated towards the Switch with the Joy Cons. But following the statement, we will have to be patient for the possibility of getting its official debut on Nintendo’s latest platform in the future.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is currently available for the Nintendo Wii and Wii U.
