Nintendo Direct 3.3.16 Recap

Today’s Nintendo Direct brought with it some brand new information on upcoming Wii U and 3DS games. If you would like to watch the direct in full, click HERE.

Metroid Prime: Federation Force

Development started in 2009.
Restarted development when the 3DS launched.
Samus isn’t the main character, but will be mentioned in the story.
Features class based multiplayer.
Launches on 3DS late Spring 2016.

Splatoon

First new update March 8th will feature balancing of gear and updates to the matchmaking system.
Later update will add new weapon combos called “Sheldon’s Picks”.

Mario and Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games

Launch Junes 24th for the Wii U
Launches March 18th on the 3DS

Super Mario Maker

6.2 million courses are currently available to play.
100 Mario Challenge getting new Super Expert mode.
12 New mystery mushroom costumes will be added to 100 Mario Challenge
Key and locked door items coming.
Shake coins to turn them into pink coins, collect them all to make a key appear.
Update will launch March 9th.

Star Fox Zero

Fortuna: New planet teeming with wildlife
Local co-op mode, one person flies while the other shoots with the gamepad.
Star Fox Smash amiibo will let you play with the classic 16 bit Arwing.
Star Fox Guard, a new tower defense game, will come packed with the game.
Star Fox Guard features Slippy and his uncle Grippy Toad who must try to protect Grippy’s mining business.
Star Fox Guard will have a mission creator in an online mode.
Launch April 22.

Paper Mario: Color Splash

Releases 2016 for Wii U
Takes place on Prism Island, which has lost all of it’s color and must be brought back using his new paint hammer.
Battle will feature cards that can be painted and flicked to deal attacks.

Available later this year

Kirby Planet Robobot

Available June 10th, 2016
3DS exclusive.
Kirby will use enemies’ technology against them.
New Robobot armor has over 10 modes which are upgraded versions of Kirby’s copy abilities.
4 Player co-op mode called Team Kirby Clash allows players to fight bosses and gain EXP.
Download play is available, so only one person will need a copy to play Kirby Clash.
amiibo scanned will give Kirby copy abilities based on that character, for instance, Mario will give Kirby a fire ability.

Series 4 Animal Crossing amiibo cards coming June 10, alongside an individual summer outfit Isabelle figure.
Kirby Planet Robobot will launch alongside 4 new Kirby amiibo. Kirby, Dedede, Meta Knight, and Waddle Dee.

Virtual Console

SNES titles exclusive for New Nintendo 3DS
Starts today with Super Mario World, F-Zero and Pilotwings.
Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario Kart and Earthbound March 24.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Super Metroid and Donkey Kong Country 2 will launch April 14.
