We don’t know much about Nintendo’s next console, code named NX, yet but more info is set to come with its announcement in early 2016. A new report by Digitimes, however, reveals some amazing numbers for the console in next year’s launch window.
The report indicates that component suppliers for the console expect Nintendo to ship between 10-12 million units of the console by 2016 year’s end. Now, that alone would be incredible as the Wii U just recently hit the 10 million units sold mark after three years in existence. Rumored to be the most powerful console once its launched along with the original Wii outselling its competition, it is extremely possible that these numbers come to fruition.
FoxConn Electronics is stated to have been chosen as the primary supplier once the unit heads to mass production in the start of Q2 2016, or April. In addition to Foxconn, Macronix, Pixart Imaging, Coxon Precise Industrial, Nishoku Technology, Delta Technology, Lingsen Precision Industries and Jentech will also supply components for the device.
With their most recent mobile deal with DeNa, Nintendo also has five confirmed mobile titles in the works as well. We’ll have to wait and see, but if these numbers come true for Nintendo, it would be the most successful console launch of all time considering the time it would launch late in the year, most likely fall.
