Nintendo, Niantic Launches Free Browser-based AR Game Pikmin Finder

From Niantic & Nintendo, the pair continues to collaborate when it comes to AR titles. Already, many players are still engaging in the continually-supported Pokémon Go. Since 2016, the title has faced numerous updates and further attracts more players. Most recently, the game introduced new routes for players to follow to unlock specific Pokémon and earn new unique currency, Zygarde Cells.

Additionally, the pair also collaborated along with Shigeru Miyamoto to launch Pikmin Bloom. Similar to Pokémon Go, players use their geo-location to explore real-time whilst further improving their gardens in-game. While a simpler approach minus the competitive collecting & battling of Pokémon Go, there is a decent draw for players to engage in Pikmin Bloom.

Recently, Niantic & Nintendo launched a new collaborative title, Pikmin Finder. While available for mobile devices, there is no dedicated app. But rather a browser-based client in which phones run the game through Chrome or Safari instead. What makes this different from Pikmin Bloom is that Pikmin Finder fully embraces the AR experience sharing a closer tie to Pokémon Go.

As many players are aware, this past weekend was the annual PAX West. Moreover, Nintendo Live also took place too which shared the show floor. According to NintendoLife, the browser application is said to be intended for attendees at the show mainly, but of course, anyone no matter the location can use Pikmin Finder.

Also from Niantic recently, the firm is preparing to launch a new AR game this month. In that, Monster Hunter Now is prepared to launch next week on September 14th for Android & iOS. You can read the full report by heading here.
