Fans of the classic 2003 title Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom were overwhelmed by the abrupt announcement THQ Nordic made sometime last year when the publisher disclosed that a remake of the nostalgic title is in active development. Upon learning more about the game, it was revealed that the reimagining of Spongebob’s most memorable video game would include co-op which the initial title lacked,
However, while we are aware of the game’s presence leading into a new decade, it was uncertain where the title would actually arrive. But according Nintendo, the company might have actually leaked the game ahead of the official announcement. In a roadmap for upcoming games hitting the Nintendo eShop, Nintendo lists Rehydrated for May 2020.

Aside from the seemingly legitimate date that Nintendo posted via email, there is no other details that surfaced regarding the approaching remake.
Previously, THQ Nordic disclosed that Rehydrated would launch with a selection of pre-order editions that the hardcore fans can indulge in. Listing the $149.99 Shiny Edition that comes with the iconic socks, Spongebob Squarepants statue, and other digital goodies. Or the $299.99 F.U.N. Edition which includes all contents of the previous bundle along with a Patrick Star and Sandy Cheeks statues also.
