The Nintendo Switch 2 has been rumored to release in late 2024 and it was known that development kits have been sent out to Nintendo’s key partner studios. A new leak has come out for Nintendo’s next-generation console sharing some interesting details that will have fans excited for it.
According to leaker, TheRealImAHeroToo has shared that Switch 2 development kits have been out for a while and confirmed the new Nintendo console will be backwards compatible with a few games already tested. There will be a new cartridge format and a brand-new camera feature.
“Switch 2 devkits have been here a while, I can verify it is backwards compatible with a few games tested. New cartridge. New camera feature.”
The reliable leaker also shared that the Final Fantasy VII Remake “runs like a PS5 game on Switch 2 devkit”. He states the port took no time and it could be a launch game for the new Nintendo Switch.
As always we should take these leaks with a grain of salt, but it’s very possible Nintendo reveals their next console within the next few months.
Most recently, Nintendo announced the Switch OLED – Mario Red Edition that will be releasing on October 6, 2023.
