The Nintendo Switch is nearing 2 years old and the amount of units sold keep growing fast and are rising up against Xbox One and could possibly surpass that console soon. It was announced by Nintendo that the Switch has sold 32.27 million units as of December 31st, 2018 and 163.61 million software units. That number is worldwide as well and not limited to just the United States as the NPD results usually say.

Not too long ago it was revealed via NPD results that the Nintendo Switch was the best selling console of December 2018 right ahead of Xbox One with PlayStation 4 surprisingly being in third. The Switch sold 1.77m units in the US that month as well.

Earlier in the week Nintendo announced that they will be restarting development of Metroid Prime 4 with Retro Studios officially working on the title now. The company still has Animal Crossing and a new Pokemon title to release this year so you know that will help their sales even more.
