UPDATE: The Nintendo Switch has sold 906k units in the month of March, making it the fastest selling Nintendo console to date, even beating out the Wii. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sold 1.3 million units in the month of March, with about 925k for Switch and 460k on Wii U. This also makes it the fastest selling Nintendo launch title as well as the fastest selling in the Zelda franchise.
The Nintendo Switch has taken the top selling console of March, outselling both the Xbox One and Playstation 4 for the month. This isn’t too surprising as it was the hot new device of the month, although it is impressive that it is managing to do well in March and should bode well for the upcoming months and the holidays with an impressive lineup of games on the way. Hopefully Nintendo can find success throughout the year and beyond with their new piece of tech. Software charts should be out shortly, so we will see which games reigned supreme then.
