Obsidian Entertainment Confirms That Expansions Will Come To The Outer Worlds Next Year

It was just a year ago that Obsidian Entertainment properly revealed that the studio’s next project would go beyond the skies with The Outer Worlds. The Fallout New Vegas developer bringing a new experience that shows heavy similarities with the 2010 title as RPG elements and even graphical likeness surely set the hungry fans arise leading up to the game’s release.

Follow suit later in October of this year, the title swiftly picked up to be one of the most memorable release of this year thanks to the game’s unique take on outer space with comical dialogue, expansive game mechanics and entertaining gunplay. Now, Obsidian is ready to share what is next for the project.

In celebration of the game’s nominations for this year’s Game Awards, the team ecstatically shares that content expansions will in fact be arriving sometime next year alongside thanking all those who supported the game and its pursuit for the annual awards show.

To all of those who voted for us in The Game Awards, you are all fantastic and we are so grateful for your support. The reception to The Outer Worlds has been unbelievable to see, and even just being nominated means a lot. However, the journey isn’t over yet as we are excited to announce that we will be expanding the story through DLC next year! Details will be made available at a later date.

While fans will have to be patient as these add-on story experiences are now scheduled to release in the first year of the new decade, it should not be a problem seeing how the base project was executed, you would prefer the same standard for the downloadable content as well. Obsidian Entertainment previously confirmed to be working on a Switch port for the October-released title with Virtuous Games, possibly we will see the new content launch with that versions too?
