Blizzard released Overwatch 8 years ago and since Overwatch 2 released it hasn’t been well-received as the first one was. Today, Blizzard revealed they are bringing a limited-time mode, Overwatch Classic to Overwatch 2 that will allow players to relive the nostalgia in a series of new limited-time events.
In Overwatch Classic, players can experience the original heroes, abilities, and maps in the classic 6v6 team-based action we all remember. Overwatch Classic will have heroes and balance from popular moments in the game’s history, from 2017 Moth Meta to the triple-tank, triple-support style of “Goats.”
The first OG Overwatch event takes players back all the way to the original 1.0 release from May 2016. This patch introduced 21 heroes and 12 maps across four different game modes, at the time.
The Overwatch Classic event will run from November 12 to December 2.
We have seen games these days bring back the “OG” style of events where they bring everything back from when the game originally launched. Recently, it has been reported that Epic Games will be bringing back Fortnite OG permanently after it was very well-received.
Should Overwatch Classic stay as a permanent mode?
