Palworld took the world by surprise to start out 2024 with its huge success on Steam reaching over 2 million concurrent players on multiple occasions and it has been doing very well on Xbox. Microsoft and Pocketpair announced on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, that Palworld reached over 7 million Xbox players since its release.

It’s no surprise that Xbox Game Pass plays a huge role in the numbers that Palworld received on Xbox and with that it is the biggest 3rd party launch in Game Pass History. Previously, it was High On Life that was the largest 3rd party release but Palworld has clearly won that battle.

Palworld reached a peak of nearly 3 million daily active users on Xbox which makes it the most-played game on the Xbox platform at that time.

“The response from fans has been tremendous and it’s incredible to see the millions of players around the world enjoying Palworld. This is just the beginning for us and Palworld, and the feedback we’re gathering while in Game Preview will allow us to continue to improve the experience for Pal Tamers across all platforms.” said Takuro Mizobe, CEO of Pocketpair

Is Palworld in trouble?

The Pokémon Company announced they would investigate Palworld for IP infringement after it was noticeable that many of the Pals have clear inspiration from certain Pokémon.

Microsoft announced they will be working with Pocketpair to help provide support for Xbox versions of the game. They’ll be providing support to enable dedicated servers, and offering engineering resources to help with GPU and memory optimization.

You can play Palworld on Xbox Series XlS, Xbox One, Windows PC, and Steam. If you are a subscriber to Xbox Game Pass you can play the game that way or purchase it for $29.99 USD.
