Treading back to Nintendo’s E3 Direct in June last year, it was revealed that Panzer Dragoon Remake will be shipping to Nintendo Switch later on in 2019. However, the game instead seeped into the latter 2020 and just today was announced to be releasing exclusively for the company’s hybrid handheld console for a timed duration.
During today’s sudden Nintendo Direct Mini, it was revealed by Sega and Forever Entertainment that the remake will be arriving on the Nintendo eShop today. You can watch the segment of the Direct Mini in the video below:
The first installment of the series when released back in 1995 offered a unique landscape of vistas for players to fly through as they shot their way through incoming hostiles in this on-rails experience. While the player is bound to fly in one direction, there is the ability to look in 360° which layers tactical gameplay for players to keep them on their feet throughout the duration of the game.
With this remake coming to the modern system, you can expect a better visual output for the game and a more substantial frame rate when playing in contrast to the initial released version. Embarking onto the Nintendo Switch respectively, the reworked title is only comprised of a 7 GB install which is a good sign to say the least.
While the version is available in most regions today, the game is specified to release later on in Japan on April 2nd next month. On the matters of the timed exclusivity that Panzer Dragoon is accompanied by on the Switch, it is unclear as of now how long the agreement will last between Sega and Nintendo.
Previously, it was revealed in a listing that in collaboration with Sega and Wildman Inc., Panzer Dragoon is said to be receiving a virtual reality experience later on. You can read the full report by heading here.
