Panzer Dragoon: Voyage Record Announced For VR & Console VR, Now Coming In 2021

Back in March, developer Wildman Inc announced a new Panzer Dragoon experience coming exclusively to the virtual reality peripheral. Revealing Voyage Record, this new title was told to be a compilation of the original trilogy of the titular series offered completely in a new perspective that the series deserves to be viewed in.

During this week’s UploadVR Showcase 2020: Summer, Wildman Inc shared a new trailer providing more context to the enigmatic title. In that, the team elaborates more on the history of the original three games and explains the essential reasoning for the conception of Voyage Record.

Due to market trends, the two titles that make up the trilogy, Zwei and Azel (Saga) were not blessed with ports to the latest consoles for a long time… With full 360-degree vision, the trilogy of the series that can be said to be “the most compatible game with VR” will be resurrected as a single omnibus title…! The Panzer Dragoon world is reborn for VR in first-person 360-degree perspective.

Reaching the end of the trailer, Wildman Inc concludes the video by unveiling that Panzer Dragoon: Voyage Record will now be shipping later on in 2021 instead of the originally slated late 2020 launch. With that, the team announces that the game will be aimed for “PC VR”, “Console VR”, and “Standalone VR”. Essentially platforms like Oculus Rift & HTC Vive for PC, PlayStation VR for console, and the standalone being Oculus Quest, presumably.

Even more, the developer tells that it will be creating a Kickstarter campaign to add more levels to the game which will commence later this year. As of reporting, the firm has yet to disclose what exactly will be included in the episodes that are a part of the crowdfunding effort.
