PAX East 2023 has arrived with a load of games on display. Studio Bravarda and publisher, PM Studios are here with Extremely Powerful Capybaras. The game inspired by this viral creature has definitely caught the attention to PAX attendees.
So what exactly is Extremely Powerful Capybaras? It’s an action packed game that is all about one game mode being Horde. You can play it solo or up to four friends.
“Become the bullet hell as a Capybara in this roguelite adventure! Brave the chaos solo or with up to 4 friends, forge your path through hordes of enemies, gather capy-powering weapons & skills and embrace your inner capybara in this action-packed bullet heaven frenzy!”
We were able to get our hands on Extremely Powerful Capybaras and it’s an extremely easy game to learn and get into. All you have to worry about is three things on the controller to remember in order to play and from what we used (Xbox Wireless Controller) it was A, X and the analog stick.
Before you get into action you will be able to choose between four different warriors which gives you different abilities. The four warriors are the following: Warrior, Assassin, Druid, Bard. What do all these come with? Mainly just different weapons to fight enemies with in the horde.
When it comes to the gameplay of Extremely Powerful Capybaras its very simple. All you have to worry about is moving around enemies and when they get close to you the character will fight automatically. That’s where A or X comes in which gives you the ability to dash around. At first glance the game seems fairly easy, but once you get further the task becomes a lot tougher especially if you are doing co-op/
During the playthrough while talking with the developer they had brought up that part of the inspiration of how the game looks is from Castle Crashers. The game definitely has some resemblance of The Behemoth’s video game hit. You also might be asking “Why Capybara” well that’s because one of the head developers has a relation to these creatures where he comes from and saw that they’ve been trending around the internet so he saw the great opportunity to make this.
While the game is still in its early stages if there was one thing I would like to see is more engagement from the player when it comes to combat instead of relying on the game to do it for you.
If you are at PAX East this weekend and have the time go check out Extremely Powerful Capybaras at the PM Studios Booth.
Extremely Powerful Capybaras does not have a release date yet and is planned to launch on PC.
