Just last week, fans swiftly grew excited for this coming Saturday’s PC Gaming Show as the outlet hosting the digital show disclosed its list of companies that will be present at the event. While some that were expected to be making a return to the annual showcase were listed, some other unsuspected teams also made it onto the list: one being Persona 5 studio Atlus.
The developer following the attendance list going live shared on Twitter to have “some exciting news to share” later this coming Saturday. But before that day even arrived, we might already have an idea as for what the reveal is for this weekend. While many would suspect the current Persona 5 would be receiving a PC version, new reports share that it is instead a preceding title.
In particular, it’s Persona 4 Golden. The title only shipped for PlayStation Vita in 2012 and never received any additional ports following its exclusive release for the Sony-made handheld. But according to Steam Database, the game is on the way to Steam. Additionally, industry insiders have also went to confirm the news to be legitimate like Gematsu who stated multiple sources have told a similar story.
The most credible claim made on the matter comes from Twitter user @Nitomatta who shared an image of the game’s presence through the Persona 4 Golden support page. The page is issued through Denuvo security which the page confirms. Denuvo is a software firm that implements anti-cheat measures that we recently witnessed be inserted into Doom Eternal.
Elsewhere in a claim made by prolific industry leaker @SabiWabii, the Twitter user also told to be hearing whispers of a Persona 3 port for PC also, but the post has now been deleted. However, Gematsu tells that none of its confirming sources have relayed any details on the matter of the PC version for the 2006 title. But perhaps it could be legitimate since the insider was the first to leak the Persona 4 detail.
According to Gematsu, the sources that verified the leak also discloses that Persona 4 Golden for PC will be shipping on June 13. So if the details are true about Persona 3 for PC – we could expect to see a similar story play out as well at the PC Gaming Show later this Saturday.
