PC Version Of Red Dead Redemption 2 Possibly Leaked Through Companion App

As Red Dead Redemption 2‘s launch debut just passed this Friday, those who dug through the code for the game’s Companion App discovered that a third version for PC might be on the way.

The RDR2 Companion App takes stress off players who prefer to use the convenience of their mobile device to check their journal, place waypoints, and customize the on-screen HUD. Fans unwound the code for the app have found hidden files referencing a PC version of the game.

Rockstar-focused outlet RockstarIntel posted a list of parameters found within the app referencing to the rumor of the PC version. Here are few examples found in the app’s code:

PARAM_Oculus
PARAM_companionAutoConnectIpDurango
PARAM_companionAutoConnectIpOrbis
PARAM_companionAutoConnectIpPC

Some of the parameters shown suggest that Rockstar is working to introduce the western title to PC and even VR with Oculus Rift.

If this was to be true, fans on the platform will have to be patient. As the original Red Dead Redemption never made it to PC, the chances of the sequel as of right now is full speculation until Rockstar comments on the new discovery.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
