In the past couple of years, Microsoft has continued to turn heads in its new partnerships with prolific Japanese developers and publishers. One that continues to shake the Xbox platform is Sega as the firm has welcomed virtually the entire Yakuza saga and even Japan-exclusive Phantasy Star Online 2. While the online MMO initially launched unique to Xbox One & Windows 10, there was more to arrive, of course.

Phil Spencer when discussing the then-breaking announcement for Phantasy Star Online 2 being showcased at E3 back in 2019, he issued that the game is still planned to hit other platforms as well. Stemmed off from the statement, it was later proven to be correct. In that, Phantasy Star Online 2 did later roll onto Steam a few months after the original North American release.

Now in a new unveiling this week, it is shared that Phantasy Star Online 2 will be arriving to the Epic Games Store later this February. In fact, the title is shared to arrive on this coming Wednesday, February 17th.

“We are so happy to be releasing Phantasy Star Online 2 Global on the Epic Games Store,” a comment from Global Team’s Fred White in which Gematsu transcribed from a press release. “With all the huge updates to the game over the past year, including the newest Chapter 6 update, there’s more content than ever to explore and play through. We can’t wait to welcome in all the new players to the Phantasy Star Online 2 universe!”

As for the game’s future, Sega previously unveiled Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis which will be an alternate running version of the game. While the expansion essentially is a carbon copy of the original, it goes to incorporate new visuals for the title. You can read the full report y heading here.
