BlizzCon 2023 is happening and this is the first time the convention is under Microsoft ownership since the Activision Blizzard acquisition in October. Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer made an appearance at the Opening Ceremony talking about the iconic Blizzard titles like World of WarCraft, Overwatch, and StarCraft.
The StarCraft community finds it intriguing that Phil Spencer talked about the IP where he talks about how it was a big part in the start of Esports and talked about the impact it had on live entertainment.
“StarCraft spawned the foundation of what Esports would eventually become and with StarCraft 2 it was a major Catalyst for the evolution of games as live entertainment.”
It had been reported that Blizzard was working on a StarCraft 3 and at Tokyo Game Show an Xbox executive said they’d love to see a StarCraft Revival.
