To what Rocket League can offer, that window for possibilities grew greatly following the change of ownership. While developer Psyonix is still handling new work and updates for the rocket car soccer title, Epic Games will be dealing the publishing for the game and to establish a better future for the Rocket League leading forward. And already, symptoms of the deal already transpired for Rocket League.
In that, the once purchasable game moves to being a free-to-play entry as of fall 2019. However, this is only the start of moving from Epic Games. Following that, fans also witnessed the ‘Llama-rama event’ for Rocket League which crossed over the titular title with Fortnite – another entity under Epic Games.
One query surfaced is if Rocket League will come to mobile. Well, here your answer: Psyonix announces new 2.5D game, Rocket League Sideswipe. You can watch the announcement trailer in the video below:
“Rocket League Sideswipe will feature mobile controls that are easy to pick up whether you’re a master of Rocket League or a new player still learning your way around the field,” Psyonix writes in the announcement post. “Plus, there are advanced mechanics, just like Rocket League, for those who want to climb the Competitive Ranks.
“In the garage, Rocket League Sideswipe will have robust car customization similar to Rocket League. Players can also expect an online Ranking system for competitive play.” For now, both Australia & New Zealand are able to enter the limited-time regional alpha playtest on the Google Play Store.
Elsewhere in terms of Rocket League, Psyonix previously pressed on the enhancements of the game on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PlayStation 5. And even with the hardware one-third of the beefier sibling, Xbox Series S can still perform at 120 frames per second, but at a restrained 756p resolution.
