Currently, Assassin’s Creed fans despite the previous drought of content is facing a new surge of content in the coming months. This October will feature the series returning to its roots with Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Additionally, Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR is promised to launch later this holiday for Meta Quest devices as well.
Beyond that, Assassin’s Creed is said to be bolstering up its staffing. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot confirmed in a previous earnings call that the publisher will be increasing hiring by 40 percent. Additionally, reports also suggest that more than a handful of connected projects are already underway at Ubisoft to further expand the IP beyond other announced endeavors made previously.
Recently, one player on Reddit discovered certain content for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag on PC has abruptly been added to the base game. Even being an owner of the Season Pass which included Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry, the mentioned ‘Aveline’ add-on was not included. Noted, the DLC was only available to those that own the Deluxe Edition which merits Ubisoft adding the content to be a sign that owners of the base game received an upgrade.
“My version of the game is from around 2015 base edition where I later got the season pass, at the time and until I recently checked, the Aveline DLC was never part of the season pass, only Freedom Cry. It’s a small DLC so its not that big a deal, but it seems to point to Ubisoft updating all copies of the game to a standardized Deluxe edition of the game for whatever reason, which is cool for now, unless it removes things I don’t about,” u/poopieuser909 wrote.
This is certainly not the first time confusion has transpired by Ubisoft on PC. In the past, there was some drama with Assassin’s Creed: Liberation as many considered the delisting to lock the game from owners. Ubisoft disputed the claims when talking to IGN. Other jarring decisions from the publisher also includes featuring its titles on Steam once more previously as well.
On the matter of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, reports did surface telling Ubisoft’s plan to remake the 2013 release. At the time, it was told the game is years off with the game only early stages into development. Even more is Ubisoft Singapore that is working on Skull & Bones is to be responsible for the remake.
