For fans that were ecstatic to see the line of announcements spared during June’s PlayStation 5 showcase, there is more to be excited about from one of the featured titles presented earlier this summer. In that, developer Ember Labs discloses that users who decide to pick up the Kena: Bridge of Spirits on PlayStation 4 will not have to worry about needing to purchase the game a second time for the coming PlayStation 5.

On Twitter, user @Proud2beGeechie asked the development studio how the game will be dealt between platforms and if the title would be compatible for cross-buy support. Where Ember Labs confirms that Kena: Bridge of Spirits will offer a free upgrade to the new console.

Howbeit, despite the developer verifying that the game will be offering an upgrade of sorts to PlayStation 5 owners later on, the offer will be on a time restraint. Taken from the statement in the post, Ember Labs does disclose that there will be a “time limit”, essentially nodding to the game being an upgrade for a limited time following its release later on.

And while Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a timed console exclusive on PlayStation 4/PlayStation 5, it is currently uncertain as to how that will operate on Xbox. Presumably, it is plausible the team will elaborate on Smart Delivery for the title when the respected versions are announced. But for now, it is difficult to determine if that will come to fruition.

What system are you planning on picking up Kena: Bridge of Spirits on?

Kena: Bridge of Spirits according to a press release from Ember Labs is set to arrive to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC sometime this holiday season.
