PlayStation 5 Access controller releases December 6

Sony announced the PlayStation 5 Access controller with it releasing December 6. Originally announced at CES 2023 as Project Leonardo, Sony has been on a journey with accessibility organizations and experts to create an all-around controller kit that enables gamers with disabilities to play more comfortably.

The PlayStation 5 Access controller is priced at $89.99 USD/$119.99 CAD/¥12,980 JPY/€89.99/£79.99 (MSRP). The Access controller lets you customize your layout with different button and stick caps in various shapes and designs, and connect third-party accessibility accessories using the standard 3.5mm expansion ports.

The customization for the Access controller seems endless, you can pair up to two Access controllers and one DualSense wireless controller together and use them collectively. Sony released a trailer showcasing the Access controller for PlayStation 5.

Pre-orders for the PlayStation 5 Access controller go live on Friday, July 21 at 10 AM local time. Players in the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Austria and Portugal will be able to preorder the Access controller directly from PlayStation through direct.playstation.com.

Some of the organizations Sony worked with to make the Access controller the way it is were Stack Up, AbleGamers and SpecialEffect.
