Sony has announced a temporary addition to the PlayStation Now subscription service with a new pricing level of $99 for a 1 year membership. It comes in at 44.5% price reduction to the next cheapest plan of 3 months for $45. According to Sony, it will only be a temporary plan but they have not elaborated on a specific time frame.
The service, which allows you to stream your PS3 games to another device on the same network, has also gotten some added games as well from Warner Bros. A total of nine games including Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham Origins, Injustice: Gods Among Us, Mortal Kombat, FEAR, Lego Movie Videogame, Lego Harry Potter Year 1-4, Lego Harry Potter: Year 5-7, Lego Batman: The Videogame and Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes are all available beginning tomorrow, December 8th, when the new plan goes live.
Although temporary, it will be nice to see Sony add this as a permanent option. With such a high discount it will most likely attract a number of new customers to the program which has been lacking of late. If the numbers maintain a steady stream, hopefully Sony will continue to offer the pricing option in the future. What are your thoughts on this new level? Has it convinced you to try it out?
