Over the past couple of years now, it has been no secret that Sony Pictures/Sony Interactive Entertainment is underway to curate a profile of PlayStation adaptations for a wider audience. Not only fans, but also show lovers & movie goers are a new demographic that PlayStation Productions is striving for. Already, PlayStation boss Jim Ryan told both Uncharted alongside The Last of Us is part of the start for a larger overall scale endeavor.

So far, the Tom Holland, Mark Walhberg-led film proved to be financially successful as Sony Pictures views a franchise to form for the property. Additionally, Pedro Pascal & Bella Ramsey’s performance in HBO’s The Last of Us is also a sure fire hit. The TV series was greenlit very early for a second season and even proves to be one of HBO Max’s best debuting shows for the platform.

Now in a new update from PlayStation Productions, the upcoming Horizon Zero Dawn/God Of War/Gran Turismo adaptations are to receive the same treatment as the recent HBO show, according to a statement from ComicBook.com.

The same care and formula that we did with The Last of Us, we’re going to be applying for Horizon [and] God of War. We’re gonna tell the story of the game because we can, because it’s a show, we have the time to do it, we’ve got the episodes to be able to do it. We’re not trying to cram it into a two hour movie. You’re gonna get the story of the game, but we’re going to also find opportunities to go wider and explore other characters and do more worldbuilding that you can’t do in the game because of agency.

He adds,” That’s the exciting thing for me, fans are going to love it because they’re going to see that game come to life, but also a lot of new things like what they did with The Last of Us.” So far, we know some details on the upcoming adaptations. For Gran Turismo, filming already commenced as David Harbour (Stranger Things, Violent Night) is to lead. God of War was also greenlit over at Amazon Prime Video previously.

For Horizon Zero Dawn, the show is to be a Netflix series and has enlisted Umbrella Academy showrunner Steve Blackman is to write for the new show. But that is not all on the way from PlayStation Productions. Twisted Metal is also in the pipeline for a Peacock release with Will Arnett, Neve Campbell, and Thomas Haden Church attached.
