Pokemon Scarlet & Violet will have improved visuals and frame rate on Switch 2

When the Nintendo Switch 2 was first revealed, a lot of information started to come out regarding certain Switch 1 games getting free upgrades. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet were one of those games that will be getting a free Switch 2 upgrade, among others.

Nintendo revealed a list of improvements for some games on the Switch 2. The games that needed it the most were Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, and they will both be getting visual improvements and better frame rates.

Here are the listed improvements for Violet and Scarlet:

• Visuals: Optimized for the Nintendo Switch 2 display and high-resolution TVs for improved image quality.

• Frame rate: Improved for smoother movement on Nintendo Switch 2

The Switch 2 upgrade for both Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will go live on June 5, 2025, the same day the console releases.

Other Nintendo Switch games that will be getting upgrades include ARMS, Super Mario Odyssey, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Link’s Awakening, and more.
