Though Cyberpunk 2077 finally met its launch date schedule following three delays from the game’s originally planned April 2020 release, players on all listed platforms finally got their hands on the newest release from CD Projekt Red. However, due to lack of transparency from the developer, the firm is now leaving statements of apologies on its behalf for the current state of the title.

In the post, the firm issued that the game is not properly optimized for last-generation hardware and the blame can be completely pinned on the developer for not relaying the information ahead of release. Surprisingly, this goes completely against a statement that CD Projekt Red issued back in January that the Xbox One/PlayStation 4 versions is not holding back development.

And while refunds are to be administered for those looking to back out of this mess, CD Projekt Red is potentially halting future content for Cyberpunk 2077. In a recent report posted by the firm, it is told that approaching add-ons for the game is subjected to be on halt until the quality of the game is cemented for all platforms.

At the moment please let us handle the situation, and please let us make some more assessments – that’s still ahead of us; we don’t know yet, and we’re now focused on improving Cyberpunk. We’ll discuss this early next year.

While the studio leads do disclose that approaching DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 is not the prime priority for CD Projekt Red, the team goes on to clarify that it does not determine a later date for planned content. So, in theory, the team could manage to resolve the problems and release add-ons for Cyberpunk 2077 in time for its targeted launch window. But the team will verify its stance on the matter after evaluating what’s on the plate for the studio.

Additionally, CD Projekt Red this Thursday was issued to retract the game from the PlayStation Store on behalf of the platform. In that, Sony Interactive Entertainment performed the delisting and refunds are promised to be honored if properly requested by its users. You can read the full report by heading here.
