More than a year ago since the game’s initial release, Remedy Entertainment’s Control is still making waves as recent as this month. In the first week of February, the next-generation update as per the title’s Ultimate Edition iteration launched pushing the latest console hardware beyond what player could comprehend on former systems. But looking ahead, the team looks to be continuing the series moving forward.
As for how the developer frames its titles, Remedy Entertainment plans to integrate all of its projects into a conjoined universe that pairs with both Alan Wake and Control. This past summer, Creative Director Sam Lake stated the games ahead will be incorporating some form of bridging realities looking forward. Already, the studio already established that with the AWE add-on for Control previously.
Now in a finding from Twitter user @PayneReactor, a new job listing reveals a new installment is expected for Control. While not out right announcing a second title, it does disclose that the team is looking for a candidate to help expand upon the “Control franchise”.
However, the posting has now been updated removing the statement. “Remedy Entertainment, the creator of Control, Quantum Break, Max Payne, Alan Wake and Death Rally, and one of the leading independent game studios in the world, is looking for a Senior Development Manager for a key role working on Remedy’s projects,” it initially read.
In the near future for Remedy Entertainment projects, its partnered release for CrossfireX is scheduled to release later this year. The studio is conjuring the single player story while Smilegate is developing the multiplayer portion. Due to struggles with COVID-19, the game is now pursuing a 2021 release.
