Over the course of the past few years, video game adaptations – specifically in television – has become a phenomenon for most streaming platforms. This trend kicked off with Paramount+ via the Halo Television Series. With the debut of season 1 in spring 2022, the show swiftly broke the charts becoming the most-viewed release for any release on the platform.
Additionally, this trend continued on other streamers as well. In 2023, the same could also be said for then-HBO Max. While not first place, The Last of Us scored #2 in the most-viewed release for the streamer then. And again from PlayStation Productions, Peacock faces similar activity. With the summer release for Twisted Metal in 2023, it became the most-viewed release on the service as well.
Now with the recent arrival of Fallout on Amazon Prime Video, the same result was met for the new adaptation. Less than a week since the eight-episode series debuted, it is already the most-viewed series worldwide for Prime Video.

What’s more, Fallout has already shaken the cage for more content – even before its airing. In a report recently, it was revealed that Prime Video received a tax credit from the State of California. Issued by The California Film Commission, a credit of about $25 million was given for the series indicating that a second season is possibly on the horizon. But, it has yet to be confirmed.
Elsewhere, player counts for some Fallout titles are finding great turnout. On Steam, titles Fallout New Vegas, Fallout 4, and Fallout 76 has faced growth recently with the show’s airing facing a surge of 9,000, 40,000, and 18,000 players respectively. You can read the full report by heading here.
