Psyonix Welcomes Free Ratchet & Clank Bundle To Rocket League For PlayStation 5 As Extended Support Features Arrive To The Platform

Predating back to 2020, monumental shifts for Psyonix’s Rocket League were taking place. At the time, it was a lot to absorb discovering that Epic Games – the firm responsible for the overflowing success that Fortnite produced – is now overlooking the car soccer title when acquiring the game studio. Additionally, the game later that fall opened its arms to the masses as it went free-to-play later on.

With the horizon slowly growing smaller in size for the leap to the next-generation consoles, Psyonix shipped dedicated versions of the game for both PlayStation 5 alongside the two Xbox Series models. But, those over on PlayStation found less flexibility in its options for enhancement in contrast to Xbox at the time.

But in a new announcement on Tuesday, Psyonix revealed better upgrades to Rocket League is underway for this week as it introduces a new Ratchet & Clank bundle for the game exclusive to the platform. You can read the full list of enhanced options below:

Quality:

4K resolution at 60 FPS with HDR.
HDR requires HDR10 compatible display and HDMI 2.0 cable or better.
4K capable display required to experience 4K. If a 1080p display is used, the game will render at 1080p supersampled from 4K.

Performance:

Game runs at 2688×1512 resolution (70% of full 4K) at 120 FPS with HDR.
Game UI runs in 4K.
4K capable display required to experience 4K UHD. If a 1080p display is used, the game will render at 1080p supersampled from 2688×1512.
HDR and 120 FPS require a compatible display, as well as Ultra High Speed HDMI 2.1 cable.

“We’re big fans of Ratchet & Clank here at Psyonix and it’s one of PlayStation’s most iconic franchises,” Jeremy Dunham, Psynoix Product & Content Strategy Director shares in the announcement. “That’s why teaming up with Insomniac to make cool content for the PlayStation community was both a thrill and a privilege to work on!”

It appears now that developer Insomniac Games covered its territory for both Xbox & PlayStation through Rocket League now. Back when Sunset Overdrive was still a fresh diamond in the rough that was the Xbox One first-party release lineup, the two partnered to deliver themed items for Xbox One users for Rocket League.
