PUBG Corps Welcomes Comeback BR Mode And New Taego Map, Out Now For Consoles & PC

As the battle royale genre continues to grow and evolve with releases such as Apex Legends, Call of Duty: Warzone, and Fortnite, developers are finding new ways to revitalize its IP as time progresses. At the time of release for the Respawn Entertainment battle royale in early 2019, many teams gathered its inspiration for its respected titles following. Already, PUBG Corp gathered the auto-equip in the past and now it looks the team is taking more pointers.

In the recent gameplay trailer for the new PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds map Taego, the team reveals that players can be resurrected for one more time after death exclusively for the new 8×8 location . “Comeback BR is a Taego exclusive second-chance mechanic. This system allows players who have died during the first phase to fight to survive and earn the chance to mount a comeback. When the second phase begins, players who died in the first phase will be taken to a separate area to fight amongst the other would-be survivors.

Nikki Park, Krafton Product Manager adds when writing on Xbox Wire. “If you survive, you’ll be awarded chopper transport back to the main fight for a second chance at that chicken dinner.” You can watch the trailer in the video below:

Park also interjects the new self AED that allows players to revive themselves when down as well. “Taego’s second unique feature is the new Self AED. This new utility item gives a player the opportunity to pick themselves back up once knocked. In solo games, solo players with a Self AED will become knocked instead of instantly killed. In squad games, if one member of the squad has a Self AED, the squad will remain knocked until all allies with Self AED are dead.”

That is not all that comes with Taego, Park continues to explain. With that, the new locale also welcomes the K2 Assault Rifle and the MK12 DMR. Most notable is the addition of The Pony Coupe, a concept for an Hyundai automotive from 1974 which does cameo in the footage shared above.

Previously, PUBG Corp revealed a new mobile initiative, PUBG New State. While its base battle royale faces legal disputes in select nations on the platform, the firm worked on a new take on the series with a definitive approach aimed specifically for smart phones.
